With
the Advantage System, maintenance functions are made simple. Menu
options have been written within the software to allow error-free
keystrokes. No more typing in system commands or complicated scripts.
Selecting the correct menu option often makes maintenance as simple
as pressing the [Enter] key.
A utility menu, such as the one shown below, leads the user to submenus.
The submenus perform varied functions, such as:
Unlocking terminals
View who is logged on the system
Perform daily or monthly backups
Change the system date and time
Print ABCS training documents
Stop or restart the printer spool
Take the system down
Perform monthly boot-and-root procedure
Read update tapes into place
View drive space
II. Developing software features that allow our users to maintain their
system simply and worry-free is the goal of the Advantage System. For
more difficult problem solving, the utility menu has advanced options.
These options are to be used as instructed by a software technician.
III. The development of our training videos will include
tapes for hardware maintenance and problem solving. Changing equipment
components, cleaning equipment, reprogramming equipment, etc. will be
available on training video tapes for self help options.
HARDWARE SUPPORT OPTIONS
There are two options available for hardware support through Advantage
Systems.
Option #1 -- Pay As You Go
Averaging one on-site service call per 3 1/2
years, the "pay as you go" policy offers the more affordable option
for most businesses. When needed, call the Advantage Hardware Department
to walk you through basic hardware issues over the telephone. Service
response time is the same with or without a contract. In the rare instances
when a "live body" is needed to resolve the issue, you would have a
choice whether to hire a local technician or proceed with an Advantage
technician.
Option #2 -- Annual Hardware Support Contract
Customized hardware support contracts are available
from Advantage Systems, for businesses that prefer routine servicing
and/or emergency on-site support.
