Company Profile
ADVANTAGE BUSINESS COMPUTER SYSTEMS,
INC. was founded in 1977 by Mr.
Gregory Matatall, the present CEO
and majority stockholder. At that time the company name was Computers,
Etc., and was mainly a custom program house for several types
of businesses, including the lumberyard & hardware industry. His
prior years of experience in managing a lumber/hardware store
provided the insight needed to focus on this industry, and, by
developing a rapport with the owners of lumberyards and hardware
stores, Mr. Matatall was able to work as an on-site programmer
at various customer locations.
In 1980, Mr. Matatall moved his family to East Texas, and changed
the name of the company to "Country Computers ". The company made
a major decision to switch to UNIX in 1987. This initiated significant
company growth, and the addition of more programmers and support
staff was necessary to accommodate the vast demand for the software
package. A decision was made to begin manufacturing an Open Systems
Computer and change the name to more appropriately represent the
product .......ADVANTAGE BUSINESS COMPUTER SYSTEMS
Advantage is now marketed nationwide and in some overseas markets.
It has now become a major leader in the lumberyard/ hardware industry.
As the fastest growing software company in the industry, Advantage
not only offers custom software and conversions from existing
systems to ours, but a full line of peripherals, forms,
and supplies, enabling us to service what we sell.

In January, 1997, Advantage again moved ahead by announcing its
new president,Scott
Stanford . Mr. Stanford had proven his management abilities
in his prior position as national sales manager and Mr. Matatall
felt he was more than capable of taking charge of the company
and steering us toward the new millennium.
In August of 1997, we welcomed the addition of a new vice president,
Gregory Cuke,
to the management team. He has assumed the sales and marketing
responsibilities formerly held by Mr. Stanford. Mr. Cuke came
to us as an experienced manager, a previous user of the database
version of the Advantage system, as a proven leader in our industry,
he served in Barbados as the director responsible for the island's
largest hardware and lumber retailer. This appointment marks our
continued commitment to providing our customers with unequaled
service.
